Sometimes a meal isn’t served exactly as listed — like a burger without the bun, a sandwich with no mayo, or a smoothie with no syrup. This feature would make it easier to adjust a logged food by subtracting ingredients or estimated calories/macros, so your diary better matches what you actually ate.
Log restaurant meals more accurately when the published nutrition includes ingredients you asked to leave off.
Subtract specific items or portions — for example, logging a meal and then removing a bun or another ingredient with a negative serving.
Quickly deduct calories or macros directly when it’s easier to estimate the change than identify an exact ingredient, such as:
subtracting 9g of fat for no mayo
subtracting 100–200 carbs/calories for no syrup in a smoothie
Handle small customizations without rebuilding the whole meal from scratch, which is especially helpful for eating out or eating at someone else’s house.
Save time while staying consistent by making minor adjustments to published nutrition instead of creating entirely new entries.
Support calorie-saving swaps and omissions so your log reflects the choices you made.
This would be a simple but powerful way to make food logging feel more flexible, more realistic, and much more useful for customized meals.
