It would be amazing to make the app more flexible by letting people choose exactly which nutrition stats appear throughout the app — including the option to hide calories completely. This would help users tailor the experience to their goals, whether they want to focus on macros first, follow guidance from a dietitian or coach, or create a less triggering environment during eating disorder recovery.
What this could include:
A “Do Not Show Calories” option so calorie amounts are excluded altogether and users can focus on nourishment and macro content instead.
Customizable nutrients on the main page, meal views, and daily views so people can decide which stats matter most to them.
The ability to choose which nutrients appear at the top of the app, rather than keeping the current top-level display locked.
Support for showing only the nutrients you care about, such as:
Protein and carbs
Calories and protein
Fiber and protein
Fiber and sodium
Or any other preferred combination
Keep the current default view available for people who like it, while adding the option to personalize it.
Pinned selected nutrients while scrolling so users can easily keep an eye on what they have remaining for the day.
Macro goals by percentage instead of only grams for users who prefer to track that way.
A more supportive visual experience for sensitive users, especially those recovering from disordered eating, by avoiding calorie-focused or shame-inducing feedback when goals are exceeded.
Why this matters:
It would make the app easier for dietitians, nutrition coaches, and recovery-focused users to recommend and use.
It helps people stay focused on what is most useful for them, instead of seeing numbers that feel distracting, overwhelming, or triggering.
It creates a more positive, personalized experience for users who want to track macros first, not calories first.
It would help the app stand out as a more inclusive nutrition tool that supports a wider range of health goals and needs.
